Avoid These Mistakes to Make Your Presentation a Stellar Success

It is rightly said that people forget about your victories but never about your failures, a simple mistake can cost you a demotion, rejection or an eviction. When it comes to success or profitable environment there is no room for errors.  While there are a million competitive strategies to succeed in the world, there are another million people to convince to make them believe in your tactics, while there are ways to do it, the most apt way to do it is through a powerful presentation. A presentation could also be used in many ways and forms, they are somewhere used to outline progress or to enlighten people about a certain topic, but then again, one needs to be confident about the topic and themselves before they begin the presentation. There are no hard and fast rules to ace a presentation.

However, there are a few mistakes which people tend to ignore consequently leading to big blunders which ruin their presentation and the sole moto behind it.  Firstly, the person presenting the data or the business or a lecture is not always aware of the number of clients or students or peers attending and nor do they intend to learn about the count, which is sadly the most common error, one needs to prepare themselves for the presentation, know the count, test their pitch, rehearse their statements, they mostly prepare themselves in their minds and not out practically which leads to lack of fluency in their speech, it should be realized that fumbling and forgetting words here and there are one of the big mistakes during a presentation.

Secondly, we often see a lot of explanations and Getty images  on the slide, which is uncalled for, these tons of images and complex words only confuses the clients or the viewers, the sole agenda behind the presentation disappears and all one is left with the on-screen words, images and charts, half of them having no sense at all. One does not acknowledge the fact that by doing this, you are basically making the audience read your presentation and not you, the essence of the presentation is lost right there. The viewers need to be attentive yet engaged in the presentation.

Thirdly, but not too different from the above mentioned mistake, The person needs to realize that he is not just a presenter, he is an orator, there is no need to plainly read out the scripts , few words and images can be put on the slide which can be explained verbally which not only builds a connection but also seals the fact that the idea or the business proposal sounds convincing. The presentation should be creative, with of course relative content, metaphors, images but also something that keeps the minds of the viewers engaged with your idea, not once should they doubt the presentation or the presenter (orator).

Last but certainly not the least is clarity, contexts that are unclear and unsettled will remain ambiguous throughout, one should not be surprised of not receiving a positive reaction, chances are the message that was put out was unclear. This mostly happens when the presenter has not thoroughly researched about the topic or background of a situation, it is imperative that a presentation has clear contexts and the mind of the presenter is not clouded, the only way of attaining a positive response from the targeted audience is through clear concepts and clear contexts.
